Summer Weekend Work Party Dates

This season’s summer weekend work parties will be carried out on the following dates. Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th August and Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August. Your attendance would be appreciated. We hope to continue the good work carried out so far as recommended by the Wild Trout Trust Advisory Report. Evening Work Party

Hi folks, the next evening work party will be on Wednesday 26th June, meeting at 7.00pm in the car park at Comber Leisure Centre. Just bring along waders and gloves if you have them. Your attendance and participation would be appreciated. Michael is unavailable but Mervyn is going to run it. He hopes to continue with the removal of Himalayan balsam and a bit of litter picking.

The club holds a number of pairs of chest waders in different sizes. Contact Michael if you need a pair to wear on the night. Your attendance and participation would be appreciated.

IAC Senior Competition 2019

Hi folks, the recent rain and increased water / oxygen levels in the river means that the committee has agreed to run the postponed senior competition (George Steven Cup) next Sunday 9th June.

Stephen Harris Memorial Shield 2018

Due to the closure of Islandderry Fishery the Stephen Harris Memorial Shield will be fished for at Woodford Fishery, 12c Woodburn Road, Carrickfergus on 23rd September.

Pollution / Fish Kill 15 April

Hi folks, for those of you who follow the club on the club web site, Twitter and Facebook you may have noted that there was a report of a pollution incident / fish kill on Saturday past at the lower end of the river. It was reported to the NIEA pollution Hotline. They carried out a full inspection of the river on Sunday morning as the incident was reported late on Saturday night and it was getting dark.
